I remember that first time we got to know each other, it was at your party for your 18th birthday. I didn't know if it was a sense of being with you which compelled me to go, or if it was really meant to be. I braved an MMDA officer and the Makati police, plus 2 hours of travel time to get there, and I did.
The next memory was of your 19th birthday, which you probably have little to recall of. You drank with your high school friends and I went there at around 2am coming from NSTP that morning and Cheska's house the whole day. Again, it felt like I was drawn to going, even though I was late, even though everything was closing and we only stayed for around 30 minutes before we parted ways. Maybe it was also fate that led you to the Starbucks in Corinthian hills at 1:00 in the morning, making it easy for me to come at you.
Strange, the way I look back, about how we could have been way back then. And still, I don't regret anything I did before, probably because we both knew that one day, we would be us, right now.
But the best memory, however, has not yet been written. No pictures yet, but in time, well, maybe it won't just be a memory.
