Let's Have A Penguin Type of Love

I've always wondered what that meant, so I tried looking on the interwebs just to see how the world spins around:

Apparently, once the female emperor lays one single egg in the middle of the coldest region of the Earth, she goes away to look for food to stock up on. The pear-shaped, defenseless egg is not left with the spouse, or the male, tucked under an extreme layer of fat under the male's stomach. The male does not eat or drink as it incubates the baby egg, and loses about half of it's weight and body fat in the process of incubation which may last upto 9 weeks. When the egg hatches and the baby penguin comes out, the female returns and both parents shift roles; the male goes off to feed while the female takes care of the baby. after this time, the male and female take turns feeding the baby penguin from food stored in their stomachs while feeding.

So, was it the food? Of course, the food brought us closer then ever before, and food was the brand new start. Food was what kept us together again. Penguins have fat, and fat is caused by food. I'm fat, and so are you. therefore this love is all about food, it makes sense, right? I didn't think that was the right answer.

Next thought: Was it the eggs? Again this is about food, but more than the food, it's about the eggs. Penguins have eggs, and they love the eggs so much because it's their baby in there. They even leave it with the male, who, in my translation, loves eggs a bit too much. but, nah, I don't think that's the right answer either.

Finally I thought, what if it were no different, and at the same time, the most special thing that's happening? It was certainly possible, that the love penguins feel was just the kind of love everything else feels, but at the same time the loves a penguin couple feels for each other makes their kind of love unique and special. There was no certain factor I could have pointed out to prove this fact; it was, in itself, magical.

So all that food, all that fat, wouldn't dare compare with this love for you. Emperor penguins live in the coldest regions on earth, yet they keep their body temperatures well adjusted to the cold without affecting their metabolism - just like my love which could survive the most extreme of weathers without a change. Male penguins don't get tired of taking care of the egg, and lose half their weight in the process - which is a damn big sacrifice. If that isn't love, then what is?

So, lastly, I quote:
Coleen: When we stop feeding each other, that's when we stop loving each other.
Gus: Hindi. Kasi we won't stop loving each other.
